Renowned Performer Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Famed For Appearances in Seinfeld and The Middle, Has Died at the Age of Sixty.

US performer Pat Finn, who appeared in iconic programs such as Friends, "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has died aged 60.

The comedic improv actor died at home in Los Angeles this Monday following treatment for a cancer diagnosis since 2022, according to media reports.

"Pat considered no one a stranger - only friends he didn't know yet," his loved ones shared in a announcement.

They continued that he had "lived his life fully - with joy and exuberance".

An Extensive Television Career

His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he played the brother of the main character.

He subsequently landed a repeating character on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.

He played the part of a party host named Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, playing a party host who would assign unpleasant chores to his guests.

During the 90s and 2000s, he had guest spots on a variety of popular shows, such as:

  • King of Queens
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • House, M.D.

He was most recognized for playing the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons from 2011 to 2018.

His film credits are It's Complicated and "Santa Paws 2".

Off-Screen Life

Away from his on-screen roles, Finn was an improv performer and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.

He was part of a six-person improv troupe called Beer Shark Mice.

"Finn taught, supported, and inspired numerous pupils throughout the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone anywhere who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.

Offering condolences, colleague and actor Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, grounded individual you could encounter".

"Always positive, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," he posted on social media.

Finn is leaves behind his spouse Donna, his children, and his family.
