Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed strikes across the region in retaliation for a "massive" and continuing offensive targeting the nation by the US and Israel.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity close to the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any damage is unclear and the United States has not commented.

Regional Interceptions

Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - all home to US military bases - reported they have shot down incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.

In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had intercepted several missiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the Middle East.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was targeting US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the attack on the Islamic Republic carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.

That initial attack - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on areas linked to the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the Iranian people to revolt against the leadership.

Wider Impacts

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israeli military said it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates announced that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses engaged the projectiles with notable success and destroyed a several projectiles," it added.

Officials reported debris landed in a residential area in the capital, causing some property damage and killing a civilian.

The US Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
