The concluding installment of this star-studded version of the popular reality show was uploaded in error by international distributors prior to its planned UK airing on Thursday, according to official sources.

Reports indicate that the finale was viewed by a few hundred subscribers of the online platform the streaming service in Canada; these individuals were able to watch it for a couple of hours before it was taken down.

This installment being uploaded was not considered a error by the producing network, and a representative for the corporation asked those who think they have discovered the result of the show to "avoid sharing potential spoilers".

"We urge those who believes they have uncovered the ending of The Celebrity Traitors to hold whatever they believe they know to themselves," the announcement read.

"We ask you to refrain from sharing potential spoilers so that the millions of fans who have been faithfully following every development of the show can experience the finale this night."

The Celebrity Traitors is currently the most-watched TV show of the year, with an average of 12.6 million people over the initial installments.

Viewers of the show have been waiting to see whether traitors Cat Burns and Alan Carr will secure the £100,000 prize for charity or whether loyal contestants the faithful contestants will be triumphant.

A former winner of the third season of The Traitors stated that "everyone dislikes reveals", which are "the thief of joy".

He mentioned they will be settling in to watch the finale tonight as it airs, with his entire family and "a bucket of popcorn".

Thursday's final episode is extended to 70 minutes on the main channel, with an extended edition of the companion show scheduled to broadcast on BBC Two after the final.
