The United Kingdom is ready to advance with employing the entire amount of seized Russia's assets to bolster Ukraine's defense operations, PM Sir Keir Starmer has declared.

In a joint statement, the heads of state of the UK, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany asserted that this unified step would increase strain on Russian President Vladimir Putin and persuade Moscow to come to the table.

They added that the move would be implemented in close cooperation with the United States.

British sanctions have blocked in excess of £25bn of Russia's assets since Moscow launched its comprehensive attack against Ukraine in 2022. But, previously, funds provided to the Ukrainian government using Russian assets had only been taken from gains and dividends accrued on them.

Sir Keir informed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that the Britain, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany were united in their desire to advance efforts toward employing the complete amount of the seized Moscow's national funds to end the war.

He noted that further restrictions in the coming days and weeks would heighten the tension on the Russian government.

This statement is subsequent to EU representatives met in the Danish capital recently to debate utilizing immobilized Russia's assets for a 140-billion-euro financial aid to the Ukrainian nation.

Recently, President Donald Trump urged G7 allies to seize or employ immobilized Russian assets, according to media sources.

The total of seized Russian funds in the EU is assessed to be almost €211bn.

Moscow executed extensive missile and drone strikes across Ukraine on that day, leading to electricity outages in many areas of the capital city, Kyiv, and several other zones.

Several persons were killed and at least 20 people were injured in the attack, the Ukrainian government reported.

In a message on X following the attack, Zelensky stated that the strategic strike aimed at non-military and power facilities.

"What's needed is not empty words but firm measures - from the US, EU, and the G7 - in delivering defense mechanisms and implementing sanctions," he wrote.

"Each restrictive measure diminishes Moscow's military apparatus," Zelensky noted, in a separate post.

Also on Friday, Zelensky informed the press he would press Sir Keir to join the weapons procurement programme, under which alliance members acquire weapons from the US to donate to the Ukrainian forces.

While praising the UK's consistent assistance for Ukraine, he remarked it should indicate firmly that it would engage in the program, as well as impose further restrictions on Moscow.
